About me

Demittajo Govan is the proud owner of Designs by Demittajo Event Planning and Decor, a highly acclaimed MBE, WBE, and SBE-designated business based in the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex. Over the past several years, her work has been highly praised and featured in multiple publications. A multi-faceted talent, her creative mind has endowed her with a spirit to serve her community with quality event designs.

My Passion
Demittajo was thrust into arts and crafts at a young age, naturally developing a gift in several areas, notably sewing. She went on to college, earning an Associates Degree in TV, Film, and Radio from San Diego City College and an Associates Degree in Event Design from Pratt College. She went on to have a successful stint in set design for several years. She expanded her skill set to include Graphic Design and Interior Design,

Feature something
Demittajo’s spark for Designs by Demittajo came from a passion-turned-venture starting in 2004 selling gift baskets. The success of the sales of her gift baskets and her design background spread by word of mouth, as close associated pressed her to use her talents for event planning. In 2009, she planned for first wedding, and went on to plan several more weddings and corporate events at small venues. When COVID-19 shutdown our nation, she pivoted into balloon decor for socially distanced programs and expanded to designing for intimate settings for large groups as the pandemic softened.
